Reflect has Refrained!
from using his abilities on the opponent's turn! (bad-um-tiss)
Reflect//Refrain has been the victim of the first Errata of a card OTHER THAN errata due to translation error, or misprinting. Was the errata brought about by 'popular demand'? OR Was it 'the voices of the loud minority' who were smashing their faces into their keyboards on tilty tilt? EDIT: The official reason, according to Force of Will Staff, is the tournament results since the card being printed has been 100% R/R in the top 8, and they'd like to see more diversity in rulers being played.
Either way, I'm sure Force of Will has their reasons for deciding an errata to the card. She was very dominant, but will it continue to be oppressive or is it now balanced pretty well? Starting February 1st, 2016, we will only be able to use Reflect (our Ruler side) on our own turn. Force of Will has made the comment before that they do not take making errata lightly. They try to play test rigorously and they have done a great job so far of shipping out amazing products at a great pace. Sometimes mistakes fall through the cracks and the veteran card game players break a card even more than the original testers thought may be possible. So why did they errata Refrain? Below is the Facebook post from Force of Will's own: Jordan Blanco! He first announces the change, then below he explains, in short, the reasoning. |
