We see it in literally every card game, every time a new set releases, an errata or ban occurs: The Dreaded Price Spikes!

Both of the cards above have some things in common, but both see a drastic difference in how much they are being played currently. I realize the one on the left is not the promo version, which is actually shocking, since it's currently only $2.71 less than it's promo counterpart. We were spoiled with a reason for these cards' prices to spike, and you'll be very upset if you didn't have these cards before the spike. Here's the reason why:
The price spikes will happen quickly, so be ready.
We already see online stores like Core and Cyberlord 'out of stock' on these cards. Whether they took them offline to see what the spoilers would be, or if they are sold out, we know both of these things mean an impending price spike. Price spikes don't happen gradually, they happen overnight and they happen based on information and supply//demand.
Here's the comparison of the current prices of the Moon Light and Moon Shades. Above I showed the price for a Promo Magic Stone of Moon Shade (pain stone), but a Regular Magic Stone of Moon Light (reflecting stone). Here are the opposites: Promo - Light and Regular Shade.
What's the most noticeable thing about these 4 prices? To me it's interesting how close in price the Moon Light promo is to a regular Moon Shade and a promo Moon Shade is only about $1 more than it's regular counterpart! And yet the Regular Moon Light is nearly half of the price of the regular Moon Shade. What's the reason these are already $5 bills each right now? Almost every competetive deck plays 3-4 Magic Stone of Moon shade and the MPR set is getting older. The format is growing, more new players are playing, plus AGP season is coming. And the demand for these Magic Stones will only rise.
With the release of the new spoilers for Kaguya 3.0 (Friend from another World, Kaguya//Kaguya, the Moonlit Savior). She makes both of these stones highly playable in a control deck using Wind and any other color or colors.
I'm personally going to be picking up a few sets of each of these while they're still cheap, in order to trade away later. I'm not going to demand you all go pick up a playset because i'd really prefer to get some while they are still cheap.
Don't say i didn't warn you when Moon Shade promos are $15-$25+ each and you are stuck buying the more common versions for $9-$12 each instead.
